站在柴山，看著海
山與海之間，風、水氣與空氣流動，腳下則是承載身體的土地
「沉境」是一件以土地、身體、材料與居住空間為媒介的場域作品
也是《塵土之身》進入私人居住空間的延伸實踐
'Traces of Land, Extension of Life'
Standing on Shoushan, gazing at the sea.
Between the mountain and the sea, wind, moisture, and air flow, while beneath the feet lies the land that carries the body.
'Shan' is a site-specific work using land, body, materials, and living space as its media. It is also an extension of the 'Body of Dust' practice into a private residential setting.
作品以高雄柴山為創作起點
創作者站在山上眺望海面，感受山海之間風、水、土與空氣的流動
並將這些感知透過身體與泥土帶入作品，柴山的土不被用來描繪風景，而成為承載土地記憶的創作媒介
身體在泥土中移動、停留與呼吸，留下無法預先設計的痕跡，每一道痕跡都記錄著一次身體與土地的相遇，因此無法被完全複製
柴山的土與高雄沿海的硓𥑮石帶入住宅，與光影及日常生活建立關係，使原本屬於山與海的材料，從風景進入生活
「沉」亦承載屋主「陳」之意
象徵向內沉澱，也象徵人與土地之間重新建立的連結
硓𥑮石承載地質的時間，泥土保存身體的痕跡，而居住讓作品進入人的生命時間
「沉境」是一段從柴山出發
經過身體與土地的共同作用，最終進入生活的地景轉譯
它留下的，不只是土地的形貌，而是風、水、空氣、重量與時間曾經經過身體的記憶
土地的痕跡，生活的延伸
The work begins at Mount Shoushan, Kaohsiung.
The artist stands on the mountain looking out over the sea, sensing the flow of wind, water, earth, and air between the heights and the horizon. These perceptions are channeled through the body and soil into the work.
The soil of Shoushan is not used to depict scenery; instead, it becomes a creative medium that carrying the collective memory of the land.
The body moves, pauses, and breathes within the mud, leaving organic traces that cannot be fully pre-designed.
Each trace records a unique encounter between the body and the earth, making it impossible to replicate.
The soil of Shoushan and the coral stone from the Kaohsiung coast are brought into the residence, establishing a relationship with light, shadow, and daily life. Materials that once belonged to the mountains and the sea transition from 'landscape' into 'living'. 'SHAN' (沉) also carries the significance of the homeowner’s surname, 'Chén' (陳).
It symbolizes an inward settling and the newly and deeply re-established connection between human and land.
Coral stone carries geological time, soil preserves the traces of the body, and the act of dwelling allows the work to enter the timeline of human life. 'SHAN' is a landscape translation that departs from Shoushan, moves through the collective action of body and land, and finally enters the sphere of life.
What it leaves behind is not merely the form of the land, but the memory of wind, water, air, weight, and time as they once passed through the body.
